Airforce Power strong in the Fund Raising Night A2 525 Final
The finalists for the Grade A2 the Fund Raising Night A2 525 have the gaze glued at the €700 prize money for which they will get entitled after being the first one through the wire over the 525 yards flat race. Trying their luck tonight are Gizmo Buzby, Log Cabin, Airforce Power, Uncle Harry, Dog Vader and Curramore Tara.
One of the most promising prospects for the race is the P. Kiely trained, Airforce Power.
The black dog is lightly raced as he joined the racing career on 4th May, 2012. Ace Hi Rumble’s son went through an upsetting phase right during the beginning of the career with miserable failures which obviously were the result of lack of training, rather no training at all.
The year-old was trained after losing three career starts, on 16th August, 2012 at Shelbourne Park. Even the Grade T2 had him failing after racing out of the fourth trap.
Settling all accounts with the initial bad luck, the year-old out of, Honey Sue, struck a hat-trick. The first two wins were at same race courses while the last one was at Shelbourne Park.
On 28th September, 2012, he won as the evening’s favourite of a Grade A5 525 yards race. Leashing out of the third trap, he did not give the chance to any of the rest to gain prominence. He motored on, and was on the other end of the wire in 29.00 seconds.
Losing the chance to win by 3 ½ lengths was, Broc.
The hound then carried forward the highly impressive form to another Grade A5 525 yards race on 5th October, 2012. Retaining the same trap, he was quick to pick up pace, and lead on until the year-old completed the trip in 28.97 seconds.
He won by an impressive margin of 6 ½ lengths which forced Almost Storm In to settle as the runner-up.
Airforce Power finally won the Grade A2 Fund Raising Night A2 525 Semi-Final on 11th October, 2012 at Shelbourne Park over 525 yards. Entered as the joint favourite, he was swift to race away, and then lead with determination, settling the race in 28.86 seconds.
Dog Vader qualified as the runner-up.
The 7 to 4 entry has drawn the third trap.
