Airforce Vegas likely to win the Stondon 550 Maiden
Airforce Vegas is tipped to prevail in the Stondon 550 Maiden at Henlow in England on Thursday, June 28, 2012. The race will be run over a distance of 550 metres, with £150 at stake for the winner to take home.
The Grade OR event is scheduled to start at 21:37 GMT, and six fierce competitors will be up against each other.
Stamina will be important in the race, and this will give an edge to, Airforce Vegas, above others. However, he does not have a lot of experience, which might discourage the bettors to risk money on him.
The R. Holloway’s trainee made his debut this year in February, and was pretty much impressive in his first ever outing. He managed to win it comfortably, which encouraged his team to promote him in better grades.
The black dog has only participated in five Grade OR events, and his performances in them have been decent.
Although, he managed to win just once, he has never dropped out of the top four, which is a positive sign.
Head Bound’s son, out of Boozed Libby, brought up his maiden victory in this class at Romford in June this year.
He had a starting price of 7 to 2, and broke in from trap number six. No one was able to match him back then, as he dominated the proceedings completely, winning by almost five lengths.
Despite being in decent form, Airforce Vegas was unable to repeat a winning run after that and finished third in a couple of races in the same class.
In his most recent outing, he gave a tough time to his opponents, but had to settle behind the top two in the end. He will need an improved performance in order to fight his way to the front again.
On the other hand, the bookies have given better odds to Westmead Atlas, who is comparatively more experienced than his main rival.
His recent performances have not been good, but he was in tremendous form at the end of last year.
The N. Savva’s trained hound has not won any race in 2012, which is not a positive sign. However, he has a solid chance to break the shackles today.
