My boyfriend is joining the marines in october and im planning on joining the air force. What would life be like for the both of us if we were married and have kids?

  1. The military tries to station married couples within 100 miles of each other. That being said... the needs of the military come before the needs of your personal relationship so you two could potentially be stationed on opposite sides of the world if that's where the military needs you.

The service tries to keep married members in the same location, but it's very common to be separated for several months out of the year.  What job each of you choose will also have an impact on how often you deploy.  Their is some pay from the military as compensation for the time you are separated.  Side note:  remember how high the rates of divorce are, and even more so in military positions which provide great stress.  So take a class.  Seriously, the statistics show that spouses are much more likely to remain married if they take a 2 week course prior to marriage.  I think the military offers something like this, some churches do, look around.
