  1. as long as they have his job at the base, he can go to any  base that has his job... not all bases have all jobs.

  2. There is a Reserve Air Base in Youngstown, just west of the Pennsylvania border. I was visiting there in 2003 and the base commander told me that operational tempo had increased dramatically after the attack on America on September 11, 2001. All of the facilities looked (and probably were) brand new, including base housing. The story was the former Congressman for that district brought home the "pork" to upgrade the place. Link below is to their web site.

The big air base in Ohio is Wright-Patterson outside of Dayton. They definitely use engineering AFSCs because that is their mission.

  3. If he's an Engineer, but not Civil Engineering, the odds of him ending up at Wright-Patterson are extremely high.  There aren't many spots for those of his specialty.  Other likely spots:  Pentagon, Langley AFB VA, Hanscom AFB, MA, Peterson AFB CO, Gunter AFB AL, Eglin AFB FL., Tinker AFB OK.

Less likely but possible:  Ogden Air Logistics Center, UT-Hill AFB UT, Kirtland AFB NM, Nellis AFB NV, LA AFS CA.

  4. A military member CAN get to almost any base...the thing is is about the NEEDS OF THE MILITARY, NOT the needs of the member!

Air Force is one branch that will send you where THEY need your services.  I'm Navy, and after your first command, you actually get to choose where your next duty station is.

  7. Airforce.com should provide you that answer. it has the locations of all bases accroos the globe from USA to Germany !

  8. go to the Air Force website, somewhere on there is a list of all Air Force bases in the US and worldwide.
