Airforce junior rotc vs CAP?

I'm in high school and i want to attend the air force academy i know how hard it is but i want to try. but i was wondering what would be better to do should i join air force junior rotc or should i join civil air patrol which will benefit me the most. thanks in advance

  1. If possible do both and decide.  Not all of them have the same standards.  Emily Wasson and Roberta Carleton of San Fernando Junior(1982) and Senior High School(1985) in San Fernando California did and had a great careers in the military.  In her case it was N.J.R.O.T.C. and C.A.P.


  2. When I was in CAP, there were lots of kids who did both.

    They each provide very different opportunities for you and both are beneficial. If I were you, I would attend a few Civil Air Patrol meetings and see if you enjoy it, then I'm sure there's some orientation program for JROTC so you can see if you are interested there as well.

    It's all Air Force, so you're not going to have a confusion factor when it comes to your learning base....I wish you lots of luck :)
