I am 6'10" 400 lbs. (yes a big guy :) I am not a wrestler, not any more anyway. My question is to anyone who flies a lot or an airline employee. I am wanting to fly to Vegas, I haven’t flown in yrs. and back in the day my Mother worked for the airlines and we had the pleasure of flying 1st class were the seats were not an issue, will I fit in a coach seat?? My buddy who flew recently who is pretty thin but tall said it was tight for him. What do you think or suggestions? Thanks!!

  1. There is more legroom in the exit row seats; however, these tend to get booked pretty quickly.

If you sign up with the United Airlines mileage program, then join the Mileage Plus (for about $200/year), you can have access to their seats that have an extra 6" of legroom).

However, with the size of coach seats these days, you're going to have an extremely tight fit.  Might be best to buy two seats (still cheaper than first class or business class).

  2. it wouldn't be very comfortable for you if you can fit.

  3. I am a flight attendant.  The seats are smaller and closer together now.  I'm going to say that you'd be a tight squeeze in a coach seat based on your height alone.  But first class is super expensive.  It may be cheaper to buy 2 coach seats.  People do it all the time.
