  1. Within the next 20 years I don't think there will be much of a change in the way airlines do business. They will be forced to look at newer technologies after their current fleet of aircraft age.

    After that, there will be an explosion of changes and supersonic flights across the globe will be an everyday thing. I think the biggest change in aviation will come as jet technology and hybrid engines become more affordable to the everyday flyer. You will be able to fly cross country straight from your drive way to wherever you are going without having to stop at the airport thanks to reliable vertical take-off and landing aircraft which will operate autonomously via an international "sky way" system. This system will act as an automated air traffic control system, safely "guiding" aircraft as our skies become more crowded.

    In short, we should have both cheaps flights and good infrastructure.
