  1. That accident was caused by the pilots expecting the exhaust from the jet ahead of them to keep the ice from reforming..I THINK...anyway, what happened is they iced up their P2T2 probes on the engines, because they did not have their engine anti-ice turned on (These must be on to keep ice out of the inlets and off the probes (electrically heated probes). These little things take pressure and temperature info and send it to the engine computers, known as (DEECS). These tell the fuel control unit how much fuel to give..which in turn gives more thrust...They were getting error readings..basically they were indicating take-off power..when in fact they were not...which resulted in the low speed high angle climb out...which then resulted in a stall and bang...into the bridge...and spill into the river....Hope this helps...
