standard? How much would such a meal cost?

In fact that's a business idea of mine - to start an "airline-themed" restaurant where the seats are ex-airline seats, a simulated takeoff it performed (with safety annoucements about the nearest exits etc) followed by all the finest better-than economy food you can eat.

Followed by a landing before you disembark (and pay your bill)

  1. economy food is way better than first class food. it's just abit more expensive

  2. The food in first class depends on a 2 things

    1. The airline

    2. The length of flight.

I have flown first class domestically in the USA, and found that sometimes the food is no better then a TV dinner. I have flown first class over seas and had food that was as good as 5 star restaurants. So it really depends on the particular flight you are on.

A nice restaurnant would normally have better food then the vast majority of first class dining experiences in the air.

  3. BLAH !!

  4. ok airline food it Crud... to get an equivalent ull need to go rummaging through bins....gd luck with the business...

  5. Proper first class on good airlines has seriously good food,  best wines, 3 entrees, soup course, salads, 5 mains, 3 desserts, cheese board.   Singapore, Cathay, BA, JAL, ANA, Lufthansa, Qantas all achieve these standards usually.

but food on a plane always has enormous catering limitations.  It's very dry and you can't cook with open flames, or in any hazardous manner.   Many restaurants in London do better, as in the top tier Michelin rated ones, Claridges, the Wolseley etc etc.

Interesting novel concept, but remember flying first class also means large lie flat beds with personal TV screens etc.

  6. I've had some pretty good food in 1st and business class flights I've taken, but keep in mind that even in 1st class the food is prepared hours ahead of time and reheated on the plane. Even the best airline food doesn't compare to a freshly prepared meal and the public's perception of airline food is poor at best. I like your airline theme idea, but trying to market your food as airline quality food I don't think is a good idea.

  7. To be truthful, in first class the food is better, in that you have a choice, but the standard is the same as economy.

You won't be able to find a restaurants in London that sells the equivalent of airline food, either first or economy.

Any restaurant, cafe or greasy spoon, that tried selling the equivalent of first class or economy airline food has been long out of business.

I'm sorry, but that is the worst business idea (the bit about food) I've heard in a very long time.

  8. first class food is way better, had economy food, where u going to open your resturant book me a table id love the idea.
