  1. What they said:

will begin assessing a $25 fee for a passenger’s second checked bag. Passengers can continue to check one bag free of charge.

The fee applies to travel that occurs on or after May 5, 2008. Travelers who purchased travel before Feb. 26 for travel on or after May 5 are exempt from the policy change.

The policy applies to all flights within the U.S., to and from Canada, Latin America and the Caribbean. Currently, about eight percent of US Airways customers check two or more bags.

What exemptions are there to the $25 fee for a second checked bag?

The $25 second checked bag fee does not apply to:

    # All Dividend Miles Preferred members (Silver, Gold, Platinum and Chairman’s Preferred)

    # Passengers traveling to and from Europe, or to and from Asia

    # Confirmed First Class and Envoy passengers at time of check-in

    # Star Alliance Silver and Gold status members

    # Active military personnel with ID and government issued travel orders

    # Unaccompanied minors

    # Passengers checking personal assistive devices

  2. Not only the second bag but to-day AA annouced all bags will pay a fee!

As stated here before check the UA web site to confirm as it does not apply to all routes!!!

  3. All airlines are changing day by day.  Your best bet is to call the day before and ask directly to the airline.  I'm flying out in a week and the rate their changing things I'm going to call the night before and bring extra money with me incase it changes fron the phone call till I get there.

  4. 15.00 PER BAG CHECKED IN
