  1. perhaps it is wrong ...

if they are considering it by weight, then they should be fair to all types of passengers ...

i travel a lot internationally with my grandson who is now almost 3 yrs old and weighs just over 12 kilos ... he is no longer an infant (below 2 yrs old), so i pay airfare for him ...

i like the idea of charging by cumulative weight (the passenger plus his baggage) ... say for example 100kilos each ... then i will have no problem bringing along an extra 88kilos of baggage for my grandson ...

  2. It's a great way to go broke, the world is getting fatter and they want to charge by weight so fat people won't travel by plane no problem the airlines will go broke and the ones who survive will have to jack up their prices so then skinny people will have to pay more anyway.

  3. I don't know if this is true, but I think what you're talking about is when airlines charge people who are overweight the cost of two seats because they have to reserve both seats for one person.

  4. it's actually illegal for airline companies to charge you by weight.

  5. It wouldn't bother me.  I don't fly that often, and am not overweight.

  6. i think its a great idea. But i think they should have a weight including you and your bags so then i can take extra luggage.  why should i get charged for excess baggage if I myself are not over weight.
