Airlines say they're struggling. Why do they not allow corporate sponsorship?

If they would allow company's to pay the airlines for advertising, wouldn't that be a win-win situation? I wouldn't mind flying in a jet that had the big Nike Swoosh on the side. Or eating a bag of Planter's Peanuts. Or watching the crappy tv shows that have commercials. Or even using a pillow that says "Ford F-150...Built Ford Tough".

I recently heard an airline will be selling ads on it's print tickets, so you might be onto something. I'd ride the swoosh to save some money too!
