Airplane's little black box?

That little black box that survives plane crashes and stuff, they obviously don't make the whole plane out of that stuff, because it'd be too heavy to fly, but what about car? or something

or maybe a gov. tank. that would be the toughest tank ever.

or maybe a house, or a shelter, like a bomb shelter.

BTW im also suggesting that the car have a layer of that black box, like between the metals, if theres a reason the whole thing can't be made out of that stuff.

  1. that black box is called an fdr (FLIGHT DATA RECORDER) AND CVR (COCKPIT VOICE RECORDER) they are actually orange..they are contained in a steel container which has several layers of padding in it..but other then that they are nothing special...if you want to build a real car make it out of steel...like the old k cars

  2. Interesting...

What do cars collide with? Other cars, mostly and using your logic they too will be of similar design. So if you have these "indestructible" objects banging each other, it doesnt change anything. The energy involved in these collisions would be phenomenal and the shock will kill you rather than material deformation.

The "black box" is designed *hoping* that it would survive a kinetic impact. It is not designed to survive a bomb or a missile detonation.

BTW, the armor of a frontline main battle tank is much stronger than that of a standard FDR casing material.
