I am leaving on Saturday for Florida. I have a rash on my stomach. The doctor gave me a lotion. Could I bring it on the plane with my carry-on if it is 60g?

  1. They make special allowances for prescribed medications. Keep the pharmacy label on it or keep it in the original box with the pharmacy label on it to let them know its prescribed and not over the counter. With the label they should let it through. If you do not have the label or it was over the counter you would be better off putting it in your checked bag.

  2. you probably can not, because they do not allow you to have liquids, but if you get a note form your doctor and show it to the security then they might let you go.

  3. Dear Friend,

Yes, they will let you but you have to have a copy of your prescription with you.  The importing thing is that the medication should have the pharmacy original label with your name and the name of the medication on it.  The medication must not be opened.  A letter from doctor will help you better.

  4. You could always get a container (no larger than 3 oz.) and put some of the medication in it and carry that with you on the flight.  Put the remainder in your checked luggage.  Make sure you have enough onboard that in the event your luggage was delayed you could get by until either the luggage was returned or you could get a hold of your Dr. to write you another prescription.  If you choose to do this it's still a good idea to have (at least) a photocopy of the prescription label for the medication with you.  Have a safe flight.
