  1. Many luggage stores sell suitcases described as 'carry-on', but these suitcases are sometimes larger than the size most airlines will accept.

The safe maximum size is 45", in the form of a 22" x 14" x 9" bag.  Some airlines allow up to as much as 55", but most do not.

For items you can't take on, I'd check with TSA. They have a great "what you should know" and a list of prohibited items on their website. http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/index.shtm

Finally, try your best to relax and enjoy the flight. If you get nervous or over anxious then it can be a scary event, but please remember that flying is still "technically" rated as safer than driving.

  2. you have to put liquids in a ziploc bag, and you can only have 3-ounce travel size liquids (shampoo, etc.)

no water or juice in the security machine, you can buy it after

if flying in mainland no fresh fruits and vegetables

certain places, like to hawaii, you can't bring certain plants and animals

your carry on has to fit in the carry on box (they have one near each gate)--all purses and SMALL suitcases/briefcase

and it's not scary to be on the airplane, it's fun!

bye and have a good trip :)

  3. 1.  Sizes vary from airline to airline; check the airline's website that you're flying and they'll have all the information.

    2.  Weapons, illicit materials, combustibles, and related.

    3.  No.  Pilots are far better at what they do than any driver.
