Question:

Airplane Ticket Question?

I flying out on the 22nd of July, and I put down both my maiden and New last name on the ticket, I just got my new license with my new last name. So the Ticket says Knudsen-Doyle, and my License says Doyle. Is this alright? Will the airplane security freak out because my last name doesn't match exactly?

I'm only asking this because something like this happened to my friend a few years ago.

Also, if it isn't alright, is there any way to change the name on the ticket?

Thank you in advance :)

  1. No that will be fine. Bring your marriage certifcate to be 100% safe.

Over the last couple of years the airlines have gotten a little better about name issues. Just after 911 sometimes they were not letting people board if even 1 letter in your name was off. But today they are finding ways to let people get through.

Your issue however, probably wont even draw a second glance.

  2. Don't worry.

I accidentally spelt Michael "MichEAl" and got really nervous. Of course, if I wanted to cough up $100 bucks I could make the change, but I didn't say anything and they didn't seem to care.

    No big deal.
