  1. For each person a carry on bag is allowed if you have purchased a ticket. For each additional bag it is now $15 for the first and so on. Make sure though that the carry on is not over sized or they will make you check it in. Also try to get on the plane as soon as you can to get your checked bag in the overhead compartment because if you don't and there is not enough room they will make you check it as well. Here is a link to US Air baggage policy... Hope this helps and have a safe trip! http://www.usairways.com/awa/content/tra...

  2. You can each take one carry-on bag and one personal item such as a briefcase, purse, or other bag that will fit under the seat in front of you. I suggest that you both get a duffel style bag that can carry plenty of stuff. As long as it fits under the seat, you are okay. The carryone should fit the overhead bins meaning 21" max.

  3. From my experience I've been able to take two carry ons. One that can fit under my seat and one that I can put above me. And Both you can your wife should be able to take one.

  4. Usually you can each take one carry on bag, plus one personal item each such as a briefcase or laptop.  Your carry on must be able to fit under the seat in front of you or in the overhead compartments. Most U.S. domestic, non commuter airlines allow a suitcase of 22"x14"x9" as carry on. Many allow a second smaller item as well such as a tote, cosmetic bag, briefcase, etc. For some international flights the size restriction may be 18"x14"x9". This is a recommended carry-on size and will vary from airline to airline so you need to check the website for the airline to be certain to get the correct information.
