  1. I live just a few miles from Heathrow Airport, and one day (say no more) it nearly happened the other week.

  2. I, too, live next to a general aviation airport, but I don't worry. In the U.S., FAA Regulations prohibit aircraft from flying below 1000 feet of the tallest structure, unless taking off or landing.  One nagging point: a "big" aircraft can be 2-engine or 4-engine on a particular plane. What do you describe as a big airplane and really low?  Most airplanes can carry passengers, but how many will determine its size.  If it were a commercial airliner, there may have been a reason(s) why it was flying lower than usual.  As long as it was still flying while over your house, no worry.

  3. All the time this happens over my house - i live in the fight path to Manston airport and it drives me crazy.

  4. Its the same here am in the flight path for Liverpool John Lennon Airport which is annoying but we get used to it!!!!!!!!!!!!!
