  1. A terminal hold lots of gates. The airport is usually well signed to show where these are.

  2. A Terminal is the large section of the airport where everything is, like , check in, information , shops and where you can buy tickets and goods, a gate is what leads off a terminal towards a specific plane, a plane is given a specifc gate number..

    hope this helps

  3. A terminal is a section of the airport which has many gates. a gate is where you go for your specific flight.  don't worry, there are signs everywhere.

  4. Think of it as if you were in school.  You would go to lets say the Science building.  That would be the terminal.  The class room would be the gate.  Know what airline you are flying and when you get to the airport follow the signs for your airline.  That will take you to the right terminal.  Park, get in line for security, look at you boarding pass which has your gate and follow the signs to the gate.  Good luck!!

  5. a teminal  is a set location with a bunch of of small doors (Gates) where you board planes. Airports can have muliple terminals in them.

    Example

Terminal A is on one side of the airport, which has 15 gates. So that means 15 planes can load and unload passengers in that one area.

But terminal B is on the other side and only has 10 gates, so just 10 planes can unload/load passengers at the same time.

Securtiy Check points will be marked which terminal it services. Go through that one to find your gate.

Airlines generally service only one or two sets of terminals, so they are often very close, and you will not have to run around the whole airport.

Last example, say you are flying Alaska Airlines out of Portland International Airport. Check your ticket, or flight departure screens located throughout the airport. It would tell you to board the plane at terminal B, gate 2. Go through security check point A,B,C (the same checkpoint can service multiple terminals). Look for a sign pointing you towards terminal B. Once you find the terminal, look at the booths where loading and unloading is to see which number gate it is. It will also state which city the plane is departing to.

  6. the terminal is the whole airport and the gate is where your airplane is. If ur having problems locating the gate there a lots of people throughout the entire airport who r paid to help u find ur gate

  7. there are many gates in a terminal... like there might be Terminals A, B, and C. And Terminal A has gates 1-20, terminal B has gates 21-40, and terminal C has 41-60... a terminal is a section of an airport.. and a gate is where airplanes kinda "park" to pick up and drop off passengers.

signs all over the airport will lead you to terminal and gates.

  8. A terminal is where an whole airline (even few airlines) goes to load and unload passengers.  At just ONE terminal, there are many gates so they can handle more than one plane at a time.

    Good Luck...

  9. A terminal is the building that you walk into when you first arrive at an airport. Major airports will usually have several terminals. Each terminal is occupied by certain airlines. In your case look for the terminal which has an AirTran sign somewhere. After you check-in and go through security, then you are in the gate area. A gate is the actual area of the terminal where you sit and wait for your flight and eventually go through the tunnel (jetway) to board the aircraft.  There are plenty of signs and people to help you in the airport. Good luck!

  10. Terminal Building could either be International Terminal building or a Domestic Terminal building.

Gates are where you you go out to board your plane.

    Simple as that.

  11. A terminal is a building.  A gate is where the planes come to the terminal. ie:  Terminal B, gate 15.

A gate is located within the terminal.

  12. Terminal refers to the entire building. For example Minneapolis has two terminals, Lindbergh and Humphrey, they are two separate buildings. That's obviously fairly easy to find.

Gate refers to where you'll be waiting for your plane. It will be listed on your ticket (usually at a letter and a number). Just follow the signs in the airport, they'll steer you towards your gate. Some airports also have maps.

  13. i didn't know either and i still can't really explain it...but you shouldn't worry, it's not hard to figure out when you get to the airport..just look at the big boards they have when you go in there...the terminal numbers and gate numbers are different (one is a letter and one is a number i think ) you can always ask someone when you get there.

what i did on my first plane trip (which was only 3 months ago)  was that i did a trial run to the airport b4  the day i was actually supposed to leave.  it helps you get a feel for what you're going to be gettig yourself into.  you just won't be able to get past the checkpoints but at least you'll have some idea on the day you go

  14. quite simply, the gate it the portal which you walk through and onto the plane. The terminal is the place you wait to board the plane. hope this helped.

  15. There are several gates in each terminal building. Most major airports have really good maps online. Sample of DTW below:

  16. there are many gases in a terminal..a terminal belongs to an airline....ex...go to gate 3 in the american airlines terminal
