  1. They must be unloaded and in the belly of the plane (check baggage) we brought a sword with us once, i thought...or maybe no idk

But i would still look up the guidlines for that at a website, or better yet call, who knows if they ever update the rules.

    southwest.com

    aa.com

go there for information on what is and isnt aloud.

  2. You are not allowed to bring guns in your carry on bag on the airplane and they will not allow you to check in guns in your checked in bags. So your mom will have to hold them for you until you do a road trip to her home or have them shipped up if they even let you

  3. check with you airline to check there regulations, But TSA allows you to pack unloaded guns with the saftey on in your checked baggage. You must tell the person at the ticket counter so they can put the bag aside for "special treatment". You can not cary any ammo in you cary on or checked baggage though. You may need a permit to travel with them check out TSA.GOV

  4. Firearms can be placed in checked luggage only. They must be in a hard-sided locked container that only you have the key or combination for. You will need to declare them when you check in, and someone will ask you to visually inspect them to make sure they are not loaded.

Just tossing them inside a bag is a bad idea. I watched someone get arrested for not bothering to go through all these steps.

  5. you can't bring any guns on an airplane
