Airport express at college?

The college that I'm going to doesn't have WIFI in the dorm rooms, only an ethernet jack. Is it possible to connect an Airport Express to the ethernet jack and get a wifi signal? Sorry, I know I'm not very savy with networking and how this all works

Yes, it is possible to setup your Airport. You may need some IT assistance to keep from interfering with the IPs the school supplies you in the ethernet connection.

Before you do that, check to see if wireless routers are allowed. Many schools these days prohibit the connection of wireless routers or wireless AP's to the system!  This is done to keep the school network secure so be sure you check before you just hookup!
