  2. If you bought your ticket online, you got an email telling you to check in.

    1.  Within 24 hours of your departure, go online, and check in, then print out your boarding pass.  On it, there will be your name, departure time, seat #, terminal #, and gate#.  This is your ticket to get onto the plane.

    2.  KEEP YOUR BOARDING PASS WITH YOU, AND YOUR ID.. IMPORTANT*

    3.  Get to the airport (duhhhh)  If you can't even figure a way to get to the airport.. then there is a problem.  Figure it out.. be it a shuttle / cab / bus / train / subway / driving / friend giving you a ride.

    4.  Go to the correct Terminal for your airline.  If you're flying American Airlines, and on the ticket it says ie. A112, then you want to go to Terminal A. (made up the code).

    5.  Once you're there, go into the airport.

    6.  Now you have 2 options.

6a.  If you are NOT checking in a bag, skip the lines by going to the kiosk machine.  You just type in your confirmation number or name or whatever.  (you probably got a confirmation number in your email)  MAKE SURE YOU'RE AT THE MACHINE for your airline.  If you're flying American, you don't want to be checking in at the Delta Airlines machine. This is the quickest way.

6b.  if you are CHECKING IN BAGS, get on the line for the airline counter you are flying with.  If it's american airlines.. go to the desk where there is a HUGE sign saying American Airlines.  You will give them your bags, and they will give you a boarding pass (yes.. it will be the same one you printed out, just keep one...) and they will give you a ticket for your bag so you can keep track of it and get it back later.

    7.   Go to the security checkpoint, and get on the line,  have your boarding pass + id with you ALWAYS.

    8.  Just follow the line, go with the flow, and get through security, and don't yell "IT'S A BONG!"

    9.  Follow the signs to your gate, if it's A112, Just follow the signs to gate 112

    10.  now wait for your plane

  3. If you wish, 24 hours before your flight you can go online and check in and print your boarding pass.

When you get to the airport, go to the desk of your airline to check in your baggage.  (If you haven't printed your boarding pass, this is where you get yours.)  Don't forget your ID.

Then you go to the security line, where you'll show your ID and boarding pass.  When you get to the head of the line, you remove your shoes, coat, etc. and put them and any hand luggage in the bins to go through the X-ray machine.  Then you walk through the arch.

If at this point you haven't removed all your metal items (jewelry, watch, etc.), it will beep and you'll have to remove them and walk through again--so be sure to remove them ahead of time.  You can either put them in your carry on bag, your coat pockets, or the little dish they'll provide for you.

After you go through, collect your stuff, look at the big board for your airline and your departure gate (it will be printed on your boarding pass as well).  Go to the gate.  You should be there at least a half hour to 45 minutes before boarding.

  4. haha a boarding pass is the pass that allows you to board a ship or plane
