Airsick or contagious sick?

I was just on an airplane and the guy sitting right in front of me to the right was getting sick the whole way. especially in the begging and throughout the middle. Then afterward he got off and he puked right outside of the airplane and went to a trash can later and did it again. I was trying to escape, I really didn't want to get his sickness if he was contagious. So what do you think? Airsick or did he have a stomach virus. His face was really red the whole time. Not pale like normal.

There IS NO way to know for sure.  Sorry.  I know I got wicked sick on a flight though from having a sinus infection coupled with my motion sickness
