Airsoft Gun on American Airlines?

I am in colorado and i will be riding American Airlines to california. I got my self a pretty cool airsoft gun.

If I bring it with me will they take it? Arest me? Throw me off the plane? help me .. i have 2 days

Firearms (including BB guns and non-working replicas) are forbidden from carry-on luggage, but allowed to be checked in with your suitcase.

If its powered by compressed gas then the cylinder must be detached (and are only allowed to travel if classed as 'small').

It is still worth verifying with AA though as these are just the TSA rules and airlines can enforce their own specific rules.

No matter what you do, don't bring it with you.  Put it in your suitcase.  They will probably check your suitcase and realize its okay, then zip it back up and youre in the clear.

they wont allow it..... mail it to address that you are going to, i know its a pain, but its the only way
