Question:

Airsoft battery question?

Ok, I've tried looking on Ebay and I've asked at Walmart about getting a new Crosman R71 airsoft battery, but no luck. Are there any direct links anyone can give me or guaranteed places where I can get a new battery? Also, I was wondering, do the Crosman R71 and Crosman R36 guns take the same battery? It looks like from their pictures that they do take the same battery, but I wanted to know from you guys.

  1. i personally only trust one brand and thats intellect they make the best batteries i have seen so far they are sold pretty much every where so good luck

    Intellect batteries

be ware of NICD batteries they suck

look for ones that say NIMH

  2. I happened to run across a pic of the R71 battery

So it looks like a standard "flat" 8.4v airsoft battery with a very low power 350mAh...  either of these should fit as long as you can wire it up via solder, crimp or s***w-cap.

This is a cheap replacement with nearly 5x the capacity of your crappy battery, chances are a single charge will last the entire life of the gun :)

    NiCd Battery Pack, 8.4V 1700mAh

    $10

In case you wanted a better, more expensive NiMH type w/ slightly lower capacity (would be my choice).

8.4V 1400mAh NiMH Flat Battery Pack

    $14

To calculate the new charge time, depends on your output of your charger just take the capacity (mAh) and divide by the output (i will guess at 250mA) and you get the time hours for the minimum and 120% of that will be the max.

    1700mAh / 250mA = 6.8h x 1.2 = 8.16

So at least ~7h and no more than ~8h for the NiCd

    1400mAh / 250mA = 5.6h x 1.2 = 6.72h

and at least 5h 40min and no more than 6h 40min for the NiMH

Or you can get the smart charger will make life much easier, charge in just over an hour (I have this one it's awesome, just lacks a discharge for NiCd type)

Smart Universal Battery Pack Charger: 7.2V - 12V

    $25

    cheers
