I'm 13 and my dad believes airsoft is not safe in a way. He believes airsoft should only be used at an arena and not in say the backyard or woods. It should also only be used when playing it's sport as in a organized game.

Now I have a few things I'd like to ask that I'm not sure of and I'm sure he isn't either since we both have no experience.

1. I have researched a done about airsoft and found out how much it hurts and range is by fps. If I bought 150-200 fps electric bb airsoft gun (the one I'm looking at is herehttp://www.amazon.com/Airsoft-Electric-Value-Magazine-Protection/dp/B000GTFYV0/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=sporting-goods&qid=1217283709&sr=8-1) and just shot it in a backyard which is very long I can't measure it atm but it's about 5-6 normal size trampolines long lol, would I be able to just set up some cardboard as a target and shoot at it.

2. Would it be legal to go far back into the woods and just play 1 on 1 with some buddys with full protection on?

  1. Oh yehh lol im 12 its not like cops are gonna come and arrest you but the only dangerous with those are getting shot in your eyes i do it with my friends with shorts and a tank op on its a little sting for 30 secs thats all just wear eye protection.

  2. First. The airsoft rifle that you chose is, in no offense, a waste of money. I have owned that rifle and it is inaccurate and a waste of money. I would reccomend an Echo 1 gun. They are reliable and cheap.  Here are some links.

These are all great guns. You will have to dish out a little more for them but they are all excellent. If you are not willing to pay the extra money, I would also reccomend a spring powered gun. These are even cheaper and never run out of battery!

As for the issue that concerns the legality of playing airsoft in the woods, It depends on the houses around it and if people are constantly walking through the park, they could complain to the police or the park rangers. You would also need to use biodegradable bb's. Remember to wear eye protection and do not shoot any animals. If all that checks out, I see no problem in playing airsoft in a private, secluded place.
