Anyone here remembered the TV series "Airwolf"?

Did they really use a real helicopter for the show or is it only some special effects added in?

real helicopter for the external shots, tricks were all real.

Both.  The external shots were real.  Special effects of the time were limited, especially on a TV budget.

I remember reading that the technology was all real but there was no way to fit it all into the cockpit, so the had different sets that used the same cockpit but with whatever devices they were going to use in that episode.
