Aisam looking to play well in the upcoming Commonwealth Games
 
The Pakistani tennis ace, Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi is hoping to perform well in the upcoming Commonwealth Games, which are going to start from next month in New Delhi.

Qureshi, who made his way into the United States Open doubles final along with his partner Rohan Bopanna from India is looking quite confident that he can also play well in a series of international assignments for the rest of the season.
The thirty year old Aisam will not be having his Indian partner Rohan in the Commonwealth Games however the Lahore resident said that even with Aqeel Khan, as his partner, he can deliver a match winning performance in New Delhi
where the play will start from October 3rd, 2010.
The right hand tennis sensation, in an interview on Saturday, said that for him the greatest honour is to play for his country. He added he will try his level best to win some good matches in the upcoming Common wealth Games as
well.
Qureshi might have to skip the Asian Games which are going to take place in China towards the end of the season as the U.S Open doubles runner up will end the year by participating in the season ending Masters tournament.
While commenting on the Grand Slam tournaments, the Pakistan tennis star said on Saturday that he can grab a major trophy in the following year along with his doubles partner, Rohan Bopanna.
"Off course, I have simply no doubts about my capabilities and I am pretty confident that together we can win a doubles Grand Slam title in the upcoming year. Our game has improved a great deal over the recent past. We have been
performing extremely well as a team throughout this season and particularly at the United States Open tennis tournament in New York. Therefore, hopefully, we will win a major title soon. We are playing equally well on all sorts of courts which is a great thing
for any tennis player on the tour who wants to exceed in terms of rankings.”
Qureshi also hopes to carry on his doubles pairing with Rohan, whom he describes as one of his best buddies on the tour, in the next couple of years.
"Rohan is one of my best buddies on the tour. We really enjoy a great deal while playing together and that is also reflecting in the outcome of our matches,” said Aisam.
The 1.83 meters tall Pakistani, who won a million hearts with his emotional speech after the United States Open final at the Arthur Ashe Stadium, further said that he would continue to spread the message of peace no matter where
ever he plays in the future.
"I feel like an obligation to me to spread the message all over the world that Pakistan is a peace loving nation and our people are caring and humble and I will continue to do it in future as well,” he added.
