Aisam Ul Haq- the one son of Pakistan who really cares for his country
After the recent wave of criticism and allegations against Pakistan cricket team, Aisam ul Haq appears to be emerging as the new ambassador for the country and also a role model.
His speech at the centre court of 2010 U.S. Open would always be remembered by everyone who had witnessed it; no matter they were in the arena or were looking on their screens. It was something out of box. Usually, when someone wins, he or she keeps on talking
about it but Aisam placed his country first before his individual achievement.
Being the first player from Pakistan ever to have played at a tennis grand slam, he could have well used this opportunity to praise his own outstanding effort but he went onto say that he would like to use the opportunity to clear the image of Pakistan.
He mentioned the peace loving people of his country. As he finished his speech, the whole arena echoed with clapping.
Earlier, when Aisam ul Haq left for the U.S. Open, no one had anticipated that this juggernaut would eventually roll into the final of this grand slam despite so many great opponents coming in his way. In fact, he didn’t only make it to the final of mixed
doubles but also went onto book his place in the finale of doubles event as well. He showed immense character throughout his time in New York, winning the hearts of millions all over the world.
Although, he ended up losing both the finals but he did made a strong point to the world that Pakistan has arrived in the tennis world with Aisam leading the way for future generations. He was unfortunate as on both occasions it was Bob Bryan, the greatest
player of doubles who was on the other side of the court. Still, the ace from Pakistan just didn’t put up his hands, conceding defeat instead he along with his partners made their rivals sweat.
Aisam intends to help the flood victims by donating his prize money for them whereas only Shahid Afridi and Younis Khan from Pakistan cricket team felt the need to help their compatriots while others didn’t even bothered to think about it. Meanwhile, the
Bryan Brothers especially Bob seemed touched by Aisam’s patrioticism as he also promised to donate his individual winning bonus of the mixed double to bring some respite to the Pakistani flood victims.
Aisam ul Haq has surely made his nation and parents proud. He is the real son of Pakistan who really cares about his country, a man who knows his responsibilities and one who can serve his nation in a better way. The credit also goes to his father, Ehtasham
ul Haq, who bared all his expenses from his early life till 2008 when Pepsi came in and sponsored him a coach, Rodrigo Nascimento.
