Aislings Jewel, the 4 to 1 favourite, wins the 400m Grade A1 Heat at Romford on Jan 11
It was Aislings Jewel’s second successive triumph of the New Year, as the black b***h won a 400 metre long Grade A1 Heat, held at Romford on Wednesday, January 11, 2012.
The daughter of Killahan Phanter out of Westmead Zippy, stunned the audience by beating the favourite hounds, Astral Bound and Mutton Geoff.
With the odds of 4 to 1, the b***h started off the race from the fourth trap. She ran at a very high speed, and grabbed the first position by covering the area in 24.42 seconds.
Her trainer, E A Gaskin was delighted with the result, as his trainee continued her winning streak.
The rampant b***h was chased by Astral Bound, who was rated as one of the two most favourites ahead of the race.
However, the 3 to 1 shot, the son of Head Bound out of Astra Lass, failed to live up to the expectations, clocking the area in 24.48 seconds.
The third and fourth places were locked by Stockers Lily, and Deanridge Jimmy, respectively.
The white and black b***h, who nabbed the third place, was sent off at a starting price of 5 to 1.
Trained by J W Reynolds, the female hound crossed the wire in 24.64 seconds, after starting the heat from the sixth trap.
With the winning probability of 7 to 2, Deanridge Jimmy, the son of Ace Hi Rumble out of Legal Shifter, reached the post in 24.86 seconds.
Droopys Maldini's son out of Archers Sparker, Mutton Geoff, was another hound, who displayed a below-par performance.
With the odds of 3 to 1, he was declared as the favourite before the gates opened. He initiated the run from the third stall, and touched the final line in 25.02 seconds.
The last position belonged to Teagan Queen – the daughter of Ballymac Maeve out of Similar Colour.
The b***h was sent off at 5 to 1 odds in the contest. Trained by J W Reynolds, she wound up the event by making it to the finish line in 25.14 seconds.
Following her superb run, Aislings Jewel earned a lot of praise. And the bettors will definitely look for her name in the upcoming heats at Romford.
