Pakistani fast bowler, Aizaz Cheema, has been tipped by his team-mate and one of the world’s finest exponents of off-spin bowling, Saeed Ajmal, to have a wonderful future at the International level.
Cheema made his International debut in a fascinating manner during Pakistan’s recent tour of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Zimbabwe-c3045 as the rookie picked up eight wickets in his very first match at the highest stage of the game. The fast bowler was equally impressive
in the limited overs series.
Before the start of the tour, there was immense criticism on his selection as some part of the media felt that Aizaz did not deserve a chance because he is 32 and this age is not ideal for a player to make his International debut.
However, the fast bowler from Lahore has proved that he belongs to the International level and he should have been given an opportunity much earlier. It is never too late though and a number of former cricketers believe that he can still
serve the country for another two to three years.
Ajmal is also one of those who believe that Aizaz will continue to do well in International cricket and he seems to be a brilliant prospect. He went one step ahead and thinks that the fast bowler is going to do really well in the on-going
Test series between http://www.senore.com/Cricket/United-Arab-Emirates-c3033 (UAE). The off-spinner strengthened his comment by saying that the Sri Lankan batsmen have not seen Aizaz before and he could trouble them.
He said, “He (Cheema) is a good find for Pakistan. He’s a good bowler, a hard working bowler who is eager to learn. I’m hopeful that he builds on that good debut and he performs well against Sri Lanka. He’s probably the least known of
the Pakistani bowlers in this series but could prove to be a surprise package for Pakistan.”
While talking about the pitches in UAE, Ajmal feels that they are batting friendly as it was proved in the series against the Proteas last year. However, Pakistan’s bowling has the ability to trouble the Islanders, feels Ajmal.
“Last time we played in the Emirates against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 last year, the pitches were very batsman friendly, but if you look around the world most test surfaces are in favour of the batsmen,” Ajmal added.
