The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 forward’s contract at Hoffenheim was terminated by the club management, and the player representative Winny Haatrecht revealed that his client turned down several clubs in order to return to Amsterdam Arena.
Ajax Amsterdam have reportedly acquired the services of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/TSG-1899-Hoffenheim-c40767 was terminated by the club management on mutual consent.
The talented forward, who started his professional career at De Joden in the 2004/05 season, joined the German Bundesliga side half-way through the 2010/11 season after making close to 100 appearances for Liverpool during his three-and-a-half year stay at
Anfield.
Although, the Dutchman’s contract with the German club ran until the summer of 2013, the club management decided to terminate his ongoing contract on mutual consent.
Babel’s agent, Winny Haatrecht, has revealed that his client was happy to join the Amsterdam giants, and admitted that the forward is keen to impress in his second stint at Amsterdam Arena.
“Ryan knows the club, the coach and hopes to make a major contribution to the further development of the team. Ajax coach Frank [de Boer] knows Ryan from his time at the Dutch national team and knows he can use him as a left winger and a striker”, Haatrecht
was quoted as saying to De Telegraaf.
The 25-year-old’s agent went on to insist that his client has not sustained any injury for the past couple of seasons.
“One benefit is that Ryan recent seasons never been injured”, Haatrecht added.
The Dutch attacker, who has thus far represented his national side in close to 50 matches, was reportedly on several European club's radar. However, the Amsterdammers expressed great intent to lure him to Amsterdam Arena before the summer transfer window
slammed shut.
Haatrecht expressed optimism that his client will achieve success while wearing De Joden colours, which will help him get his career back on track.
“There were many clubs interested in Ryan, but Ajax stood out for him. It should be a good partnership”, Babel’s agent concluded.
The Dutchman has put pen to paper on a one-year deal at Amsterdam Arena.
