Ajax Amsterdam thrash http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Heracles-Almelo-c39520 3 – 0 to keep their Eredivisie hopes alive
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/AFC-Ajax-c38228 Amsterdam put in a tremendous performance against the in-form Heracles Almelo at Amsterdam Arena on Sunday, 3rd April, to clinch a 3 – 0 win and kept their hopes alive of lifting the Eredivisie title.
Frank de Boer’s Ajax hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons this week, when their entire board of directors resigned from their positions following a dispute with the legendary Johan Cruyff over club management.
However, the Amsterdammers manager made sure that the board of directors’ resignation had no affect on the player’s performance. De Joden staged a good show in front of their home crowd to secure all three points against the in-form Heraclieden.
Boer said, “http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Remko-Pasveer-c30790 helped us. After the opening goal, we had no trouble. We kept the pace and controlled the game.”
Both the sides were unable to break the deadlock in the opening 45 minutes of the match. However, the home side impressed with their playmaking after the break. The Heraclieden gloves man, Remko Pasveer, was unable to hold on to a free kick from Miralem
Sulejmani and the blunder cost the visitors a goal, as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Oleguer-c28408 Renom headed from close range to break the deadlock in the 58th minute.
The opener boosted the Amsterdammers’ morale and they started playing with confidence. De Joden doubled their lead in the 65th minute when http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Christian-Eriksen-c9074 made an impressive run from his own half
and delivered a perfect cross to De Jong, who made no mistake in finding the target. Araz Ozbiliz made it 3-0 in the 81st minute to secure all the points.
Ajax were ecstatic with the win against the Heraclieden, as the visitors had come into this game on the back of a four-match winning streak. It was an excellent performance from De Joden with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mounir-El-Hamdaoui-c26905 being the only exception. The 26-year-old was
reinstated to the playing eleven after almost three weeks. However, Boer is confident that the Moroccan international will improve his performances in the remaining weeks.
The Amsterdammers are currently placed third in the league table. They trail the league leaders by five points and the second placed http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/PSV-c40281 by three points. Boer would be hoping that his troops continue to stage dominant shows on the pitch that could see them
emerge as the Dutch Champions.
