Ajax Amsterdam’s Mounir El Hamdaoui hopes to play against FC Twente Enschede – Eredivisie news
Ajax Amsterdam’s striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mounir-El-Hamdaoui-c26905, is hopeful of playing against FC Twente Enschede in the Eredivisie title decider at Amsterdam Arena on Sunday, May 15. The Moroccan International is suffering a hamstring tendon in his left knee and it seems
like the Amsterdammers have to do without his services in the upcoming crucial encounter in front of their home crowd.
Earlier reports from Amsterdam Arena suggested that there is a slight chance of the 26-year-old striker taking part in the decisive encounter against the Tukkers. Moreover, the club doctor was also hopeful for the Moroccan International to take part in the
upcoming encounter. For his part, Hamdaoui has not lost hope to play against the newly crowned KNVB beker cup champions.
The technically gifted striker is currently training separately from the team and working hard to recover in time for the upcoming clash. The 26-year-old striker is hopeful that he will recover in time for the Eredivisie title decider, though, he admits
a timely return is difficult.
Hamdaoui said, “I naturally hope that I can reach it, but it is very difficult.”
Frank de Boer, Ajax manager, would be hoping that Hamdaoui gets fit before the upcoming clash against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Twente-c39233. Boer knows that his side has already suffered in the Moroccan International’s absence; four of the six Ajax defeats after the winter break were
without Hamdaoui in the squad.
Hamdaoui is disappointed with his injury and sees it as an obstacle in a footballer’s career. He said, “I can now say something about difficult period. Injuries are obviously not good, but not at all you want as a footballer.”
Ajax currently sit second in the league table, a solitary point behind the league leaders FC Twente. The Amsterdammers know they have to secure all three points if they want to be crowned Dutch champions. However, without their leading goal-scorer, Hamdaoui,
it seems unlikely that the outfit from Amsterdam will secure all three points against an impressive Enschede outfit.
