The Eredivisie giants failed to lure the young winger in the January transfer window, but are still keeping tabs on the 21-year-old as a potential summer signing.
Reports from Friesland confirm that Ajax Amsterdam are interested in signing Heerenveen winger, Luciano Narsingh, in the upcoming summer transfer window.
Mino Raiola, the 21-year-old’s agent, has confirmed the reports and revealed that the Amsterdam giants have made their intentions clear about his client.
“Ajax have told us they see http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Luciano-c22574 as an interesting option for next season. After the ongoing season comes to an end, we will hold a meeting in which Ajax and Heerenveen will have to work out a deal”, Raiola was quoted as saying to De Telegraaf.
The young winger is a product of the Amsterdammers renowned youth academy. However, the 21-year-old never made it into the De Joden’s first-team and moved to the Friesland outfit in the summer of 2008.
Despite finding life difficult in his debut season, the Dutch footballer of Indian-Surinamese descent made rapid developments to his game and became one of the key players in the squad.
The 21-year-old has thus far made 53 appearances for Heerenveen, netting 11 goals while setting up plenty more along the way. However, his performances this term have remained staggering, scoring six goals while providing 18 valuable assists.
Narsingh’s good performances earned him interest from the reigning Eredivisie champions, who tabled a bid to acquire his services on the final day of the January transfer window. However, the two outfits ran out of time completing the move and the deal collapsed.
The young winger has an ongoing contract at Abe Lenstra Stadion that runs until the end of the 2012/13 campaign. Reports indicate that the Friesland outfit will not let go of their prized asset for anything less than 5 million Euros.
Meanwhile, Ajax have started to reinforce their squad for the next season, as they have completed the signing of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/NEC-c40018 Nijmegen’s Lasse Schone on a free transfer on a three-year deal.
In addition, they have set their sights on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 this summer.
