title.
The Amsterdammers boss has admitted that his team’s impressive display at home against the Eredivisie title rivals made him proud.
“I am a proud coach. We kept PSV under pressure for 94 minutes. This is the level we strive for and hopefully we can maintain this for the rest of the season”, De Boer was quoted as saying to the club’s official website.
The Dutch mentor then went on to insist that AZ Alkmaar are the favourites to lift the Eredivisie title despite his side trailing the table-toppers by a single point.
“I am so proud of what we have done on the field. We played well, but maybe we were just not decisive enough in the final stage. De Boer concluded.
The Amsterdam giants made a dominant start to proceedings at home, keeping the ball to themselves for most part of the opening 45 minutes. However, they failed to create any real goalscoring opportunities.
