Reports from Amsterdam Arena confirm that Ajax Amsterdam have managed to acquire the services of NEC Nijmegen midfielder, Lasse Schone, on a Bosman move. The 25-year-old had an ongoing contract at McDOS Goffertstadion that was due to expire in the summer
of 2012.
Despite the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/NEC-c40018 management trying to renew his expiring deal, the Danish midfielder opted to ply his trade away from Nijmegen after the end of the 2011/12 season.
FC Twente Enschede, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Feyenoord-c39258 Rotterdam and Bundesliga outfit, Schalke, were also reportedly keeping tabs on the Danish International. However, the 25-year-old opted joining the Amsterdam giants before the start of the 2012/13 campaign.
Schone, who has thus far made 101 appearances for the Nijmegen outfit and scored 22 goals, has expressed his delight on having agreed to join the reigning Eredivisie champions.
The midfield ace has insisted that he will do his utmost to win a starting spot while admitting that it will not be an easy task.
“My first goal is to win a starting spot. It will not be easy, but I'll do my best. A good feeling is always the most important thing for me. Of course it was a factor that Ajax plays European football every season, but directly after the first contact I
had the right feeling. That counts for me”, the Danish midfielder was quoted as saying to the media.
Ajax head coach, Frank de Boer, was also pleased to hear about the 25-year-old’s decision and asserted that he will fit perfectly in the squad.
“Lasse fits perfectly into our philosophy. He is a creative player who can score as well as provide assists. Those are the kind of players we keep at Ajax”, De Boer was quoted as saying to the club’s official website.
Schone has reportedly penned down a deal with Ajax that will keep him at Amsterdam Arena until the summer of 2015. He will join his new club after his contract at McDOS Goffertstadion expires on June 30.
