Ajax gives http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 until Saturday to land Luis Suarez
Dutch outfit Ajax has given Liverpool until Saturday to finalise a deal for Uruguayan striking sensation Luis Suarez. If the team fails to come up with an attractive offer for the player by then, the window of opportunity to land
the player will be closed for good.
Liverpool previously tabled a bid worth almost 12.8 million pounds for the player, but Ajax turned it down and asked for more instead. Ajax reportedly are demanding 21 million pounds for their 24-year-old striker and seem to be
rather persistent on that price tag.
However, what Liverpool have working in their favour is the fact that Suarez has openly expressed his desire of playing in the Premier League and Ajax coach, Frank de Boer is also looking to resolve the issue as soon as possible.
Frank de Boer is quoted to have said, "We don't want to lose him"
"Liverpool know what they have to pay and we are sticking to our guns.
"We want to know by January 29, after that nothing more will happen."
The coach at the Dutch club is well aware of the fact that an unhappy player is not worth having on the team any longer. With Suarez having expressed his desire to switch, it is safe to say that if that does not happen, then his
performances are bound to falter.
Should Liverpool land Suarez before the end of the month, their season could well be back on track. With the added firepower of the Uruguayan goal machine upfront with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fernando-Torres-c13707, Liverpool could be one of the most lethal
teams in the world on the offence. However, the duo would not be alone in their task to rescue the Reds out of their slump, as they would be greatly assisted by the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Raul-Meireles-c30678 in the centre of the pitch.
A move for Suarez is also something that Liverpool desperately need right now, to try to boost the confidence at Anfield. With the deadline now having been set, it is going to be a wait until Saturday to see how this move progresses.
