The Amsterdammers director of football Marc Overmars insists that the Eredivisie champions cannot meet unrealistic asking price of the talented winger while the 21-year-old’s agent blames the Friesland outfit for his client’s transfer failure.
Ajax Amsterdam have pulled out of the race to sign http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/SC-Heerenveen-c40463 winger, Luciano Narsingh, in the ongoing summer transfer window.
The Amsterdammers director of football, Marc Overmars, has confessed that his side cannot meet the unrealistic Heerenveen’s asking price for the 21-year-old winger.
The Dutch international, who came through the ranks of the Ajax’s youth academy, started his professional career at Abe Lenstra Stadion in the 2008/09 season. However, the youngster failed to become a regular at the Friesland outfit until the 2010/11 campaign.
Narsingh had a terrific 2011/12 season, netting eight goals while amassing an impressive 22 assists in 34 league matches.
Fulham, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/PSV-c40281 Eindhoven and Ajax have expressed keen interest in signing the Dutch winger before the 2012/13 season kicks-off following his brilliant performances.
The Amsterdammers reportedly tabled a bid of three million Euros to land the winger’s signature earlier this month.
However, the Heerenveen management have made it clear that they will not let go of their star player for anything less than six million Euros.
De Joden chief has now confirmed that his side will set their sights elsewhere, as the Heerenveen management are asking an unrealistic transfer fee for their winger.
“The sky is no longer the limit at Ajax. If clubs set unrealistic asking prices for their players, we are pulling out. That's also the case when it comes to wages. Perhaps we can sign http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Luciano-c22574 next year”, Overmars was quoted as saying to De Telegraaf.
Meanwhile, Narsingh’s agent, Mino Raiola, has blasted the Friesland outfit for not lowering their asking price in order to complete the deal.
“It looks like they don't realise yet we're in an economical crisis. The only thing that can make this transfer go ahead is Heerenveen dropping their asking price, but I can't see that happen”, Mino Raiola said while talking to journalists.
Heerenveen sporting director, Johan Hansma, recently revealed that the young winger’s move to Amsterdam Arena could still be materialised if the Amsterdam giants are willing to increase their bid.
Narsingh, who has thus far played 62 Eredivisie matches for the Friesland outfit, has a contract at Abe Lenstra Stadion that is due to expire in the summer of 2013.
