The Newcastle United target’s ongoing contract is due to expire at the end of the 2013/13 season, but the club management has offered him a new lucrative contract that will prolong his stay at Amsterdam Arena for further
three seasons.
Ajax Amsterdam have reportedly offered http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Vurnon-Anita-c36486 an extension to his ongoing contract, which is due to expire at the end of the 2013/14 season. Should the versatile midfielder sign the new deal, he will become one of the highest
paid players in the Amsterdammers squad.
De Joden sporting director, Marc Overmars, has revealed that his side does not want to lose their star player in the ongoing summer transfer window, which tempted the club to offer Anita a new contract.
“We do not want to lose Vurnon. That’s why we have made him an offer to sign with us until 2015 or 2016. The coaching staff has been very clear. Vurnon is very important for the team and we do not want to let him go. With his new
contract he would be one of the highest earners at Ajax and his services will be appreciated”, Overmars was quoted as saying to De Telegraaf.
The 23-year-old midfielder, who came through the ranks of the Amsterdammers’ fabled youth academy, has been plying his trade at Amsterdam Arena since the summer of 2005.
Despite struggling to enjoy regular playing time early on in his career, the Dutchman worked extremely hard to cement his place in the Ajax starting XI, and has been performing brilliantly for the Amsterdam giants for the past
couple of seasons.
Ajax have managed to lift back-to-back Eredivisie titles, and Anita’s impressive showings at the centre of the park undoubtedly played an integral role in his side’s successive league triumphs.

“Vurnon is keeping all his options open. He wants to see what other countries can offer, but Ajax have offered this contract to show how much they want him”, Anita’s father said while talking to journalists.
