The Danish wonder kid has made it clear that he would prefer staying at Amsterdam Arena rather than moving to a club that competes in the bottom-half of the table.
Ajax Amsterdam playmaker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Christian-Eriksen-c9074, has long been linked with a number of elite European clubs. Recent reports indicate that Manchester City and Anzhi Makhachkala are taking keen interest in signing the Danish ace this summer.
However, the 20-year-old versatile midfielder has now confirmed that he has yet to hear from any interested clubs.
“I don't think much about the market rumours. I read in the papers that Manchester City and Anzhi are ready to spend millions on me. There is nothing concrete there”, Eriksen was quoted as saying to the media.
The young midfielder, who is said to be one of the hottest prospects in Europe, started his professional career at Amsterdam Arena half-way through the 2009/10 season. The highly-talented midfield ace made rapid developments, and swiftly established himself
as one of the key members in the Amsterdammers starting XI.
The Danish international has thus far represented De Joden in 76 Eredivisie appearances, netting 13 goals while setting up an impressive 29 more along the way.
Although, the youngster has been linked with a host of European clubs, he has openly confessed that he will only move to one of the top clubs playing in English Premier League, La Liga or Serie A.
“Which league would I like to play in? One of the English, Spanish or Italian championships”, Eriksen added.
The Danish international went on to stress that he will only move to a club that competes for the title every season.
“I want to play for a club that plays to win championships. If they don't, I might as well stay here. There is no point moving to a club that is in the bottom half of their league. I'd prefer to remain at Ajax, grow here and win more championships”, Eriksen
concluded.
The promising young midfielder has a contract that will keep him at Amsterdam Arena until the summer of 2014, and an offer in the region of 15 million Euros would be needed to lure the technically-gifted midfielder away from De Joden.
