The 22-year-old has done well at the left-back position in the absence of Nicolai Boilesen since September 2011 and has now admitted that he is becoming comfortable with his role.

The young stopper has admitted that he has improved a lot and is now getting used to his role at the left-back position.
“When you play games like this one, it promises a lot of good. It’s getting better and better for me with each passing day. I am glad that I am getting the confidence from my coach. I did struggle earlier, but now I think I am getting used to with my role”,
Blind was quoted as saying to the Dutch media.
The 22-year-old went on to praise the home fans, who remained behind his team throughout the 90 minutes against PSV.
“We played superbly I guess against PSV right from the start, and the fans were backing us strongly. That’s the kind of support you always expect from the fans, and it really did pressurise PSV on the field. We then knew that we will win the match”, Blind
concluded.
The youngster was behind Nicolai Boilesen in the pecking order. However, since Boilesen was sidelined due to a hamstring injury in September 2011, the 22-year-old has done well to grab the opportunity with both hands, to cement his place in the Amsterdammers
first-team.
Blind, who started his career at Amsterdam Arena in the 2008/09 season, has thus far represented the Amsterdammers in 25 matches.
The 22-year-old has an ongoing contract at Amsterdam Arena that runs until the summer of 2013. Reports indicate that the club management is looking to offer him a new deal that will tie him down with the Amsterdammers until the end of the 2014/15 campaign.
