The Dutch stopper went on to reveal that he not only desires to be a good player in the Dutch top tier, but wants to be recognised at the top level.
“My ambitions are open. I do not aspire to just be a good player in the Eredivisie. I want to get to the top of European football”, Van der Wiel concluded.

Reports indicate that Ajax will not accept anything less than 10 million Euros for Van der Wiel’s signature.
