The Dutch international looks set to leave the Eredivisie champions this summer, and a move to the UEFA Champions League winners would interest the highly-rated full-back.
Ajax Amsterdam right-back, Gregory van der Wiel, has revealed that he has yet to hear anything from the English Premier League side, Chelsea, regarding a potential summer move. However, the 24-year-old has insisted that he will
welcome a move to the UEFA Champions League winners.
The highly-talented stopper, who is a product of the Amsterdammers youth academy, started his professional career at Amsterdam Arena in the 2007/08 season. The Dutchman has thus far donned the jersey of De Joden in 127 matches
and has netted 11 goals as well.
The gifted right-back has long been linked with a move away from the Eredivisie champions this summer to join one of the top European clubs after putting in consistent performances for the past couple of seasons.
Chelsea are in search of a new right-back, and have reportedly set their sights on luring the Dutch international to Stamford Bridge before the start of the 2012/13 campaign.
However, Van der Wiel is of the view that reports in media that are linking him with a move to join the English premier League outfit are mere speculations, as he is yet to hear anything concrete.
“I didn't hear anything from my manager, I think it is just rumours and we will see in the future what comes”, the Dutchman said while talking to the journalists.
The Dutch stopper went on to stress that he would, however, love to join the European champions if a good offer comes in.

Reports indicate that the Ajax management will not let go of their prized asset for anything less than 10 million Euros in the upcoming summer transfer window.
