Ajax’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 – Eredivisie news
Versatile Ajax Amsterdam defender, Jan Vertonghen, is attracting interest from a host of top European clubs with his impressive performances this season. Reports indicate that AC Milan, Arsenal FC, and Liverpool FC are all interested in signing the star
defender in the upcoming summer transfer window, meaning the 23-year-old defender could be on his way out of Eredivisie at the end of the season.
The Belgian International impressed the Rossoneri scouts during de Joden’s 1 – 1 UEFA Champions League stalemate against the Serie A titans earlier this season. The Daviolo scouts have been monitoring the 23-year-old’s performances since then. Massimiliano
Allegri’s side are eager on adding fresh blood to their side, and Vertonghen seems the perfect fit for the squad.
On the other hand, Arsenal have also identified Vertonghen as a target for the upcoming transfer window. Arsene Wenger, the Gunners tactician, is keen to strengthen his defence and the Ajax starlet seems to be his primary pick. Liverpool FC are also interested
in signing Vertonghen at the end of the season. However, with the player already being chased by two elite clubs, the Reds will have to raise their valuation of the player in order to land his services.
The Belgian has been a star performer in Ajax’s strong defensive line. Vertonghen’s current contract with the Amsterdammers is set to expire in the summer of 2013, but an offer in excess of 15 Million Euros would convince De Joden management into letting
go of their key defender.
Ajax have the best defensive record in Eredivisie this season. Owing much to Vertonghen’s defensive skills, the club is third in the league table at the moment. The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Belgium-c2850 International has remained a vital part of the de Godenzonen’s back line since his
arrival in 2006/07 season. However, it looks like that the 23-year-old would be leaving the club at the end of the season.
The Eredivisie side lost two of its star players, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Urby-Emanuelson-c35731 and Luis Suarez, in the recently concluded January transfer window, which has affected the side’s performances. Frank De Boer is very much likely to lose another key player at the end of the
season..
However, the Amsterdammers management would look to hold on to their prized asset, should they manage to qualify for UEFA Champions League for the next season.
