The young defender has been on the sidelines since September 2011 due to a hamstring injury but is now looking to return.
Ajax Amsterdam defender, Nicolai Boilesen, has recovered from a hamstring injury and is set to return to action after remaining on the sidelines since September 2011.
The 19-year-old picked up a knock during his side’s 2-2 stalemate against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/PSV-c40281 Eindhoven at Philips Stadion on September 18, and had to be substituted in the 18th minute of the match.
Earlier reports suggested that the youngster would be match fit in a couple of months. However, further scans on his injury confirmed that the young Dane will have to wait a little longer on the sidelines.
Boilesen has revealed that he is recovering rapidly and will be making his comeback in the near future for the defending Dutch champions.
“I’m getting better every day. I will play with the Ajax reserves on Monday and if that goes well then I could be back in training with the first team for the rest of the week”, the Danish starlet was quoted as saying to NUsport.
The 19-year-old then went on to admit the recovery period was painful for him, as he remained very eager to play again.
“It has been terrible, that is no secret. Quietly working on your recovery takes incredible mental strength. My family has dragged me through this difficult time. I will concentrate fully on training this week and then we'll see where it goes from there.
I am not going to rush back this time”, Boilesen concluded.
The youngster could make his return in his side’s next week Eredivisie clash against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/NAC-Breda-c39983 at Rat Verlegh Stadion on February 11.
The young left-back joined Ajax’s renowned youth academy, Jong Ajax, in December 2009. He impressed the Amsterdammers first team coach, Frank de Boer, and made his professional debut in his side’s 3-0 win over http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Heracles-Almelo-c39520 at Amsterdam Arena on April
3.
Since then, he has made 10 Eredivisie appearances for the reigning Eredivisie champions.
