The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 and Hoffenheim ace has not been the part of the Netherlands squad since the 2010 FIFA World Cup, but has expressed his desire to represent his national side in the coming years.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ryan-Babel-c31971, who joined Ajax Amsterdam in the recently concluded summer transfer window on a free transfer, has expressed his desire to be a part of the Netherlands squad yet again.
The 25-year-old attacker has thus far represented the Flying Dutchmen in 42 matches since making his debut in 2005.
The promising striker was part of Bert van Marwijk’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Netherlands-c753 that reached the final of the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
However, the former Liverpool forward did not enjoy any playing time in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/South-Africa-c757, and the Dutchman has admitted that it was frustrating not to play even a single minute throughout the competition.
“It has been a while now since I've played in the Dutch national team. Being part of the Dutch team that went all the way to the final in 2010 against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011 was a nice experience. Not to be played was a frustration as I think I could have added something
to the team”, Babel was quoted as saying to FIFA.com.
Following an impressive performance in the 2010 World Cup, the Oranje entered UEFA Euro 2012 as the pre-tournament favourites. However, three defeats in a row at the hands of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Portugal-c2984 ended their European Championship quest, and eliminated
them from the group stages.
