The Newcastle United target is keen to take the next step in his career this summer, and expresses his desire to play in the highest echelons of English football.
Ajax Amsterdam midfielder, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Vurnon-Anita-c36486, has insisted that English Premier League is the best league across the globe, and has expressed his desire to ply his trade at one of the top English sides.
The 23-year-old, who is a product of the Amsterdammers youth academy, started his professional career at Amsterdam Arena in the 2005/06 season. Despite struggling to make an impact in his early career, the versatile midfielder
continued to work extremely hard, and became a first-team regular in the 2009/10 campaign.
The Dutchman, who has thus far played over 100 Eredivisie matches while wearing Ajax colours, was instrumental in his side’s back-to-back Eredivisie triumphs, garnering him interest from several European clubs with Newcastle being
tipped as the favourites to land his signature this summer.
Anita knows that interest in his services is mounting, and has revealed that he will certainly consider the offers made by interested clubs.
“I am going to seriously consider any interest and will discuss it with my parents. The Premier League is a top competition where I would want to play”, the midfielder was quoted as saying to the Dutch media.
The talented midfielder, who can also play in the left-back role, has an ongoing contract at Amsterdam Arena that runs until the summer of 2014.
The Amsterdammers management have thus far shown unwillingness to let go of their star player this summer. However, reports indicate that an offer in the region of eight million Euros could very well tempt the club to sell the
midfielder before the summer transfer window slams shut.
Anita, who has also thus far represented http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Netherlands-c753 in three matches since making his debut in May 2010, has made it clear that he does not mind staying at Amsterdam Arena until his contract expires.
“Ajax say they won't let me go, and I'm tied up here until 2014. It would be no punishment to stay, but you never know”, the Dutch international concluded.
