Ajay Jayaram achieves high skill in badminton after working with Tom John – Badminton news
Ajay Jayaram, India’s emerging shuttler in Men’s Singles category credits his success to his coach, Tom John, who also served as a chief coach for the national team of England. Tom has also been working as the chief coach of the national squad of Portugal.
World Number 29 ranked Jayaram has benefitted a lot from Tom as he has learnt the art of patience while playing in the court. Many changes are quite visible in Jayaram’s style of play as he has become a more calm and composed player, who reacts according
to the situation now.
The 23-year-old Jayaram is expected to become one of the top contenders in all major badminton events as he is progressing with an incredible speed. His gradual improvement in the international stage indicates that he is ready to enter into the row of best
shuttlers from China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Korea and Denmark.
While talking about his wonderful performances in international events, a humble Jayaram said, "I credit my success to my parents and Tom John. He (John) is responsible for making lot of positive changes in my game. Earlier I used to lose matches after dominating
early but he told me to be patient and play aggressively. I am benefited a lot under him. Earlier also I had trained with him in Portugal. My whole attitude has now changed and results are there to be seen."
Talking about his plans for the upcoming months of 2011, Jayaram revealed, "I have a contract to fulfill for Hamburg Club. I will be there for two months (October-November) and another two months early next year. When I will be in Germany, I am also planning
to compete in European circuit."
The combined efforts, hard work and dedication of the coach and Jayaram have made his chances bright to bring glory back to India and become the true follower of Prakash Padukone and Pullela Gopichand, who were the former All England Champions from India.
He is showing the skills of a complete shuttler and if things proceed in the same manner, Jayaram will soon become a world beater.
