Whilst the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) seems in no mood to take Vinod Kambli’s match-fixing claims seriously, the Sports Ministry of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 is curious about the inside story, as the Indian Sports Minister, Ajay Maken, has called for a probe
into Kambli’s allegations.
The Sports Minister has urged the BCCI officials to investigate match-fixing claims by the former Indian cricketer, adding that his ministry might step in if the board does not order a probe in due course.

Kambli, the 39-year-old http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 had something “amiss”. What made Kambli suspect the credibility on Indian
cricket team in that match was the then India captain, Mohammad Azharuddin’s decision to bowl first, after winning the toss. Sri Lanka was declared winners in that game after the interference of crowds.
Maken said that he has been badly hurt by the claims of Kambli that there was something wrong in that match. He further added that he had cancelled a lot of his appointments just to watch that match and if the accusations turn out to be true then it would
be extremely unfortunate for the game of cricket.
Maken said that the cricket fans have the right to know whether the accusations made by Kambli are true or false
"So, it should be properly investigated and if something wrong has happened then the culprits should be punished," said the Indian sports minister.
“BCCI has not come to the Sports Ministry for any recognition so far but I would want, whatever agency is there, BCCI should order a probe into it. If the BCCI doesn't conduct a probe, we will look at it," he added further.
Meanwhile, the BCCI vice president, Rajiv Shukla, has said that the board does not find Kambli’s false claims worthy of being investigated.
